Holycross Abbey is a restored medieval monastery - an outstanding example of wonderful architecture, art, myth, legend and historic life.
There is a wealth of religious content and symbols to be explored. A tour takes about 45 minutes. There is also a picnic area and shop. Tour times will change to adapt to any religious events taking place in the Abbey.
On the tour, one will see the Relic of the True Cross which gave Holycross its name; will have the opportunity to listen to the mythical story of ‘Ceall Uachtair Lámhann’ and also will visit the ‘Whispering Arch’, along with many others sights.
